1. Who we are

Narrative Immersion PTY LTD, trading as Campfire Talk ("we", "us"), is the data controller for personal data we collect through this service.

2. What we collect and why

Account data (name, email, profile picture from Google sign-in) — to create and manage your account.
Usage data (which question categories you've seen) — to avoid repeating questions and improve your experience.
Technical data (IP address, browser, device type) — for security, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
Payment data — handled by our payment provider Paddle. We do not store full card details.

3. Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of contract performance (delivering the Service to you), our legitimate interests (security and product improvement), and your consent where required.

4. Who we share data with

Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, billing, tax compliance, and invoicing.
Hosting and infrastructure providers (Supabase, Cloudflare) — to operate the Service.
Google — for sign-in (if you use Google sign-in).
Authorities — where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Retention

We keep account and usage data while your account is active. If you delete your account or are inactive for an extended period, we delete or anonymise your data, except where we need to keep it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these, email us at privacy@campfiretalk.app. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database — to protect your data.

9. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember which questions you've seen. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Children

Campfire Talk is intended for general audiences. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

11. Changes

We'll update this notice when our practices change. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
